They came here today and they are the mama cat and two siblings of Piccolino, the tiny paralyzed kitten who came here ten days ago. The kittens were supposed to be taken by someone else and the mama cat to be spayed and released back in the area, but nothing happened. So today we took the little family from the parking lot where they used to live. The mama cat is now with Eugenia and the two kittens with me.
It would not have been right to save just the paralyzed kitten because he needed help and let the rest of his family there. These 3 girls deserved another chance also, even if they are not disabled.
But, as always, the hard part comes after the rescuing, and it’s about covering their vet bills.
Only their vet debt from today is €200 (€120 for the mama cat and €80 for the kittens)…
They were tested for panleukopenia, coronavirus and giardia, they were worm and flea treated, and the mama cat was also tested for FIV/FeLV, microchipped and spayed.
Soon they will need to be vaccinated, meaning another vet debt of €120. Our debts are already high, we still owe €160 to the vet and €1300 to the GS vials.
